I was able to be a blessing to a waitress today in a local restaurant. I see her often but I wanted to make her smile and gave her a rather large tip. I also left a 25,000 Touches Card with her.

A guy in the lunch line brought a sweet tee and it came out to $1.09 and at BCBS to use your debit card you have to spend at least $2 and he didn't have any cash; I saw an opportunity and told the cashier to add my food to his drink and he along with the cashier thought it was a very nice gesture. I explained the effort our church was doing with the 25K touches and it FELT GREAT!!

I had a very exciting time on Saturday as I reached out to persons in our community. My service route is centered on Broad River Road, from St. Andrews Road up to Friarsgate. I visit the laundry facilities, carwashes, barbershops and beauty salons. It is such a joy to see the look in peoples' eyes, the smiles on their faces and listen to their questions as I give them free bottles of cold water. I offer the water with a warm smile and a word about our 25,000 Touches Campaign. On this past Saturday, I reached my goal of touching 100 persons. TGBTG!

It is exciting to hear about these touches. We are on our way to 25,000!!!

I had the great pleasure of training about 20 persons last evening on the principles of Servant Evangelism. It was such a joy to introduce this great ministry to our people there. We are setting some big goals for the number of persons that we will train in this area and for the number of people that we will serve. On this evening, we will be in training members of Community Outreach Church in Charlotte, Pastor Anthony Ramsey is the pastor; Community is our church plant in the Charlotte Metro.

Shalom!

I posted this comment on my Facebook page "Don't allow a setback to SET YOU BACK; because I look at it like this; A setback is ONLY a setup for a COMEBACK!! And once people hear your COMEBACK story they'll understand why you were SETUP (not setback) God doesn't believe in setbacks but He's always setting us up...LOL just think about it. Peace"

Had a super time on Sunday @ Community Outreach Church. On Thursday and Friday I taught them the principles of Servant Evangelism. On Sunday, I inspired them with a message from Ephesians 3:14-21 about the reason why we should be passionate about sharing our faith; it is because of the magnitude of God's love.

Tuesday: A tremendous hour of serving at the Bus Station on Sumter Street and on the Broad River Corridor. I was able to make more than 100 total touches with bottled water and through direct witness and prayer for individuals. It was very exciting. We were able to make 5 hospital touches at Baptist hospital, ministering to a patient and to several staff persons who requested prayer as I was visiting. While dining out, I also blessed two servers with generous tips.

We are on our way to 25,000 Touches!!!

Today we went out with a goal to get 60+ touches by handing out bottles of water. Our day began @ the Lake Murray Dam where we collected a few touches. We traveled to Riverwalk park in Columbia where we collected a few more touches. We then moved to Finlay Park where another group was getting touches giving out water. We moved onto the bus station and collected more touches. We went from there to Sims park and touched some youth playing basketball. Our touch campaign ended @ the USC stadium as their scrimmage was ending. We reached our goal! Thank you Jesus for the opportunity to touch so many all over the city.

I went with my husband Samuel to his doctor appointment at the VA hospital, while he was taking some tests I went to wait for his prescriptions. As I was setting their waiting for his name to come up I saw some people waiting in the travel reimbursement line, who look as if the were really sick or tired, so I offered to stand in line for them. I stood for 25 people. I told them about our 25k touches. They were really happy I offered to stand in the line for them. That line is usually long and it seem as if it takes forever to get to the window, but that day it moved really fast. Thank you God for moving that line:<)

Thursday, August 18, I had an excellent hour serving persons at various stops on Broad River Road. I was able to make 75 touches within an hour and had the opportunity to have sustained conversations with several persons. I am beginning to meet many persons in the community who have seen us at various stops, they are expecting us to come around and make our return stops. This is a good thing! We are on our way to 25,000 touches.

Thursday, August 24, it was perhaps my most rewarding day. The people in the establishments that we visit regularly were receptive as usual. I also went into some other businesses and met many new persons. The amazing thing is that people are overwhelmingly receptive to being touched with acts of kindness. I think that they also appreciate know that this is more than a "ploy" to get people into our church. I definitely exceeded my goal of touching 100 people before Bible Study. We are on our way to 25,000 touches. On Wednesday, I also did more training for about 20 persons in Bowman and will prepare to do some touches there on next Wednesday. I am looking forward to getting things going there.

On Friday and Saturday, I was able to exceed my goal. It was such an outstanding two days of meeting, greeting, and sharing with so many persons in our community. One of the things that struck me is the spirit of entrepreneurship that is so strong among our people. I am encouraged as I see business people of all ages, despite the economic woes of the nation. First Lady made her touches and the ten of the persons that we touched were guests at church on Sunday.
Thank God for those 200 touches.

We are on our way to 25,000 touches.

We did not have a specific plan for these touches, but we got to make them after we made a stop downtowm. When we arrived at our location down near USC, we noticed a fairly large group of folk outside. Some were walking to and from work, others were sitting and chatting, and still others were waiting on or getting off busses. We able to serve 25 persons by providing water and we were well received. I was also happy because I had the opportunity to pay the bus fare for a man. I did not give him the money but paid the fare directly; it felt good and like fun to help him. He was not old, but he was ill.

We were able to join the 25,000 Touches Campaign by assisting a homeless gentleman who came to the office in need of money for gas, medication, food, and a place to stay. Walters' took him in and have assisted him since last Wednesday.
